Activate your MOE Student iCON account to access Google apps, Zoom, and Microsoft Office for your learning journey.

Dear Xingnanians,

You are now officially enrolled in MOE Student iCON. You are required to activate your Student iCON account in the coming weeks. We will be moving from our school-based email (slsid@xnps.edu.sg) to the Student iCON (name@students.edu.sg) for the 2022 teaching and learning session. Do you know what is student iCON is?
Student iCON is a suite of Google apps including emails and other apps services such as Google Classroom and Docs that helps to better support your learning in the following ways. 

  • Support self-directed and collaborative learning

  • Enhance Teaching and Learning

  • Support the Development of Digital Literacies 

Student iCON is similar to our current school domain (@xnps.edu.sg) but comes with more features such as Google apps, Zoom, and Microsoft Office ProPlus.

These useful applications will be provided progressively and will follow you throughout your learning journey from Primary School to Junior college.

Does this means we will not use our school (xnps.edu.sg) email.?

Yes, we will no longer use the school-based email (@xnps.edu.sg) that is assigned to you, instead, we will be using the  MOE iCON (@students.edu.sg) email account.

PERSONAL DATA & PRIVACY

Parents will need to give consent for the student's use of MOE’s Centralised ICT Systems. For the IT Applications (student iCON, Microsoft ProPlus, and Zoom), MOE will use your child/ward’s personal data such as his/her name, birth certificate number, and class to set up user accounts. This data will also be used for the purposes of authenticating and verifying user identity, troubleshooting, and facilitating system improvements.

In addition, the commercial providers of these platforms (e.g. Google, Microsoft) will collect and deal with user data generated by your child/ward’s use of these applications. The collection use and disclosure of such data are governed by the commercial provider’s terms of use, which can be found here:
 

All user data that is collected by MOE will be stored in secure servers managed by the respective vendors of our systems. The Government has put in place strong personal data protection laws and policies to safeguard sensitive data collected by public agencies such as MOE.
