Character and Citizenship Education
Our Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) curriculum is guided by the Ministry of Education's CCE 2021 Curriculum Frame and builds on Singapore's 21st Century Competencies (21CC) Framework. Through a coherent, intentional and whole-school approach, we nurture students' values, social-emotional competencies and citizenship dispositions across subjects and key student learning experiences.
Students are provided with authentic opportunities to learn, practise and reflect on their experiences, enabling them to apply their learning meaningfully both within and beyond the classroom. More importantly, we aspire for every student to internalise these values and demonstrate positive transformation from the inside out, growing into individuals of good character, resilience, future readiness and active citizenship, and becoming confident persons, self-directed learners, active contributors and concerned citizens.
CCE Framework
Key Approaches
Our CCE curriculum is brought to life through a range of intentional, evidence-informed teaching and learning approaches and student development strategies. Anchored on the CCE themes of Identity, Relationships and Choices, students engage in meaningful learning experiences through stories, discussions, role-play, authentic experiences and purposeful reflection. These experiences develop students' self-awareness, strengthen positive relationships, cultivate sound values, social-emotional competencies and moral reasoning, and empower them to make responsible choices. Through this holistic approach, students grow into confident persons, self-directed learners, active contributors and concerned citizens.
Growth Mindset Curriculum
Our Growth Mindset Programme, grounded in the pioneering research of Carol S. Dweck, equips students with the belief that abilities can be developed through effort, perseverance and effective learning strategies. Through a structured progression from Primary 1 to Primary 6, students learn to embrace challenges, learn from setbacks, value feedback, set meaningful goals and take ownership of their learning. By fostering resilience, confidence and self-motivation, the programme equips students with the dispositions to become lifelong learners who approach challenges with a positive and growth-oriented mindset.
Clarify-Sensitise-Influence (C-S-I) Case Studies
The CSI (Clarify–Sense–Influence) Case Studies programme is part of our school's commitment to nurturing students of strong character and sound judgement. Through adapted and anonymised real-life case studies, students are guided to clarify the facts, understand the feelings and perspectives of those involved, and consider how their choices can positively influence others. Using thoughtful discussions instead of ready-made answers, the CSI approach develops students' critical thinking, empathy, perspective-taking and responsible decision-making, equipping them to make wise choices both in school and beyond.
Education and Career Guidance (ECG)
Our Education and Career Guidance (ECG) Programme broadens students' awareness of future education and career pathways while inspiring them to discover their interests and aspirations. Through opportunities such as sharing dream occupations with juniors, interacting with professionals during Career Day, and learning from secondary school students about life after the PSLE, students gain valuable insights that help them make informed decisions and confidently plan for their future.
Student Leadership Development
Our Student Leadership Development Programme empowers students to lead with confidence, integrity and purpose. Through a progressive leadership pathway, students develop self-awareness, personal effectiveness, sound values and interpersonal skills while serving in appointed and situational leadership roles. Supported by leadership training, meaningful responsibilities and outreach opportunities, students learn to influence others positively, contribute to the school community, and grow into confident, self-directed and compassionate leaders.
